Georgia State joins the Sun belt
It appears as if the CAA will let Georgia State leave the league without much of a fight as the school officially announced its admission to the Sun Belt on Monday.
The primary reason for Georgia State's desire to leave is reportedly based on wanting its football team to make a move to the FBS level. The Sun Belt plays in the FBS.

The question isn’t does Temple have what it takes to compete in the Big East. The Owls have the resources. The question is can the Owls excel, especially in football?
Temple was in the Big East for football from 1991 through 2004, but was kicked out, citing low attendance figures, questionable facilities, etc.
"We didn't deserve, truthfully, to be in the football competition in...

Alabama No. 1 in AP and USA Today polls
Alabama's dominating 21-0 win over LSU in the BCS National Championship in New Orleans on Monday night gave the Crimson Tide the national title.
And, not surprisingly, Alabama is No. 1 in both of the major polls.
What is surprising is that Alabama was not a unanimous selection in the AP poll. The Crimson Tide received 55 of 60 first-place votes. LSU got one vote and Oklahoma State got...

Don’t expect a Baylor-Washington outcome, but plenty of points will be scored in what should be an entertaining game. Big East champion West Virginia ranked 17th nationally in total offense during the regular season (460 yards per game) and ACC champion Clemson...
