Hicksville’s Kevin Cashman pitched nine innings and allowed five hits -- three infield singles -- walked three, including one intentional, hit two batters...

“After the walk, I thought I should’ve struck him out,” Laureano said. “It feels good because I have a lot of confidence in myself, I knew I was throwing good.”

Laureano,...

It is only April, but it felt like a playoff game between Wantagh and Plainedge this afternoon. It was an exciting game between two of the top teams in Nassau Class A and Wantagh eked out a 5-4 win on the road.

Mike Stack delivered a solo home run in the top of the seventh inning on a 2-and-0 fastball with two outs off Tom Walsh, who struck out the first two batters of the inning on some nasty...

Holy Trinity starting pitcher Anthony Rosati left Wednesday’s 8-2 win at St. Anthony’s after the second inning because of a blister on his right foot.

According to coach Bob Malandro, Rosati has had the blister for a little over a week, and experienced too much discomfort to continue in Wednesday’s game. Rosati allowed two runs in the two innings he pitched.

“We have to figure out why...
